B2B Dock Clerk Client Interview Required

Serves as the operational backbone of Flexport's freight movement, managing the accurate receipt, verification, and dispatch of inbound and outbound shipments at the dock level. Responsible for cross-referencing cargo against Bills of Lading, packing lists, and purchase orders while coordinating closely with carriers, warehouse teams, and account managers to ensure seamless B2B freight flow. Maintains real-time inventory accuracy by logging shipment data into Flexport's systems, flagging discrepancies, and upholding compliance with customs and safety standards. A critical link between physical logistics operations and Flexport's digital supply chain platform.

About the Role:

Pay Rate: $21

Shift Times (as available):

• Sun-Wed
• Orientation will be at 8am Day 1

Receiving & Inbound Operations

• Unloads and inspects incoming freight for damage, quantity, and accuracy
• Verifies shipments against Bills of Lading, purchase orders, and packing lists
• Assigns and records lot numbers, SKUs, and storage locations

Shipping & Outbound Operations

• Stages and loads outbound freight in accordance with carrier schedules
• Prepares and verifies shipping documentation (BOLs, manifests, labels)
• Coordinates pickup windows with carriers and freight partners

Documentation & Data Entry

• Logs all shipment activity into Flexport's platform and WMS in real time
• Flags and escalates discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods
• Maintains accurate chain-of-custody records for audit and compliance purposes

Carrier & Vendor Coordination

• Communicates directly with truck drivers, freight brokers, and B2B clients
• Manages dock appointments and ensures on-time departure and arrival
• Resolves delivery exceptions and rerouting issues at the dock level

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse or similar environment
• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Push utility cards up to 60 pounds
• Go up and down stairs (where applicable)
• Work at a height of up to 40 feet on a mezzanine (where applicable)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely
• High school diploma or a GED
• Must be able to read and write and communicate in English
• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be reliable, have good time-management skills and have ability to work at a steady pace
• Walks, stands, bends and stoops for 8-10 hours during shift to locate items from orders, organize product and fulfill orders
• Repetitious regular lifting of 20-35 pounds; moving of boxes, to access product, up to 40 pounds
• Occasional small step stool/ladder usage; obtaining product located on upper shelves
