Material Handlers

Now hiring Material Handlers in Indianapolis, IN (1302 N. Meridian Street, Suite #100, Indianapolis, IN 46202) with day-shift variety and a starting pay of $20/hr. This is an urgent hiring need with three openings (including temp-to-perm and long-term opportunities). You’ll be part of a small, team-oriented warehouse where associates rotate between loading, order selection, and returns processing to keep work varied and support daily operations.

About the Role

Bright Star is adding three Material Handler team members due to current staffing shortages and upcoming absences. This role supports day-to-day warehouse operations including loading, order selection, and processing returns. The team is small (about 8 employees), and the work is physically active—ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy and contributing to a team.

Pay Rate:

• Starting pay: $20/hr

Available Shift Times

• Most of the month: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)
• Final week of the month: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (to support increased product-processing volume)

Key Responsibilities

• Load/unload and move product within the warehouse
• Perform order selection/picking and staging
• Process returns, including basic clerical/record tasks as needed
• Use hand-operated pallet jacks for most loading activities
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Support the team by rotating across tasks (loading, selection, returns)

Key Requirements

• Ability to stand for most of the day and perform frequent lifting up to 30 lbs
• Warehouse/material handling, shipping/receiving, or order selection experience preferred
• Comfort with basic clerical tasks (especially for returns processing)
• Forklift or narrow-aisle certification not required (training provided; certification may be arranged for permanent conversions)
• Strong reliability, work ethic, and consistent attendance
