Job Title:

Lead Press Operator

As a Lead Press Operator, you will oversee the operation and performance of our state-of-the-art flexographic presses—the largest and most advanced in the lottery instant ticket printing industry. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring press efficiency, maintaining top-tier print quality, and mentoring press team members. You’ll play a critical part in delivering outstanding graphics, bulletproof security, and exceptional customer service through precision press operations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily press operations, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production schedules
  • Interpret job sheets and oversee accurate press setup, including Anilox roll selection, print sleeves, and stock Supervise ink preparation and ensure correct ink placement across print decks
  • Monitor and enforce quality control standards, including web inspection and registration accuracy Troubleshoot press issues and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency Record and report production metrics: footage printed, ink usage, and quality samples
  • Mentor and train Press Operators and Assistants, fostering a culture of safety, precision, and continuous improvement Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure press readiness and minimize downtime
  • Operate unwinders and manage substrate loading during production Mix custom inks and adjust PH/viscosity as needed for color consistency
  • Ensure compliance with all Brightstar Lottery policies, including confidentiality and environmental standards

Education Required
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Required
5+ years of related mechanical, manufacturing, and/or printing experience 
Knowledge of flexographic press operations preferred 
Leadership or supervisory experience in a pressroom environment strongly desired
Proficiency in 4-Color Process (CMYK)
UV Ink handling experience
Familiarity with heavy coatings and finishing techniques

Skills Required


Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours during a shift
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally throughout the shift
Physical capability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, push, pull, and twist at the torso as required
Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow detailed processes and procedures related to facility operations
