Overview
JMC Properties, a growing real estate development and property management firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Bookkeeper to join its team on a part-time, temp-to-hire basis. This position supports the accounting department in managing day-to-day bookkeeping, data entry, and general administrative duties across a diverse real estate portfolio that includes both commercial and residential properties.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of financial transactions into accounting systems.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including matching invoices and preparing deposits.
  • Maintain organized financial records.
  • Support the team in migrating to a new accounting software by helping with setup, data input, and verification.
  • Reconcile transactions and assist in preparing financial reports.
  • Maintain filing systems (digital and physical) for accounting records and vendor documents.
  • Communicate with vendors, tenants, and internal staff as needed to resolve billing or payment questions.
  • Assist senior accounting staff with special projects or general office duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or data entry (real estate experience a plus).
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail , accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
Additional Details
  • Background check and drug screening required prior to placement.
  • The position offers flexibility and potential to grow into a full-time role as business needs expand.
