Schedule: Evening/Night Shift (transition to midnight shift as production increases)
Pay Rate: $24 - $27/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a Sanitation Technician Team Lead to oversee and coordinate our off-shift sanitation crew. This role is critical in ensuring that all production equipment and facilities are cleaned and sanitized in compliance with company policies and food safety regulations. The Team Lead will provide leadership, training, and task direction to sanitation staff while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the sanitation team, fostering teamwork and accountability.

  • Assign and oversee nightly sanitation tasks based on the Master Sanitation Schedule.

  • Ensure thorough cleaning, sanitation, and reassembly of food processing equipment.

  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and verify compliance with GMP, SSOP, and food safety standards.

  • Train team members on proper sanitation practices, PPE use, and chemical handling.

  • Report maintenance issues promptly and support corrective actions.

  • Promote continuous improvement in sanitation and food safety practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience (food industry preferred).

  • Flexible to work evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

  • Knowledge of sanitation chemicals and procedures preferred.

  • Experience with power industrial equipment (forklift, lifts, etc.) a plus.

  • Ability to work in wet or humid conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to train, coach, and motivate team members.

  • Ability to read and interpret safety, maintenance, and regulatory documents.

  • Comfortable working independently and documenting shift information.

  • Physically able to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and lift for up to 12 hours.
