Our client is now hiring a Light Bar Assembler for their facility in University Park, IL, starting at $19.26/hr!

We’re looking for motivated individuals to join the production team of a leading manufacturer of safety and security equipment. This full-time direct hire position involves hands-on assembly work in a clean, structured, and safety-focused environment. No prior experience in light bar assembly is necessary, just bring your attention to detail and willingness to learn!

About the Role:
Federal Signal Safety and Security Systems is a top-tier manufacturer committed to delivering high-quality safety solutions. As a Light Bar Assembler, you will play a vital role in the production of emergency vehicle light bars, used by police, fire, and EMS services nationwide. You’ll work in a collaborative, team-driven environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are at the forefront.

Pay Rate: $19.26/hour - $20.25/hour, DOE

Available Shift Times:
  • Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble light bars using hand tools, power tools, gauges, jigs, soldering irons, and presses
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, schedules, spec sheets, and work instructions
  • Prepare and requisition parts, materials, and equipment for production tasks
  • Monitor product quality and report defects or issues to QA or Engineering
  • Use bar code readers, gang microchip programmers, and crimping machines
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Train new team members on job tasks and safety practices
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass skills assessment administered by Federal Signal
  • Proficiency with basic computer operations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and frequently perform physical tasks such as standing, kneeling, and reaching
  • Comfortable working around moderate industrial noise and occasional exposure to airborne particles
  • Must be able to distinguish colors and perform tasks requiring close and peripheral vision
