The Automotive Technician is responsible for performing mechanical services, inspections, and accessory installations on vehicles in a high-volume processing environment. This role ensures vehicles meet manufacturer and customer specifications while supporting production timelines and quality standards.
Technicians play a key role in preparing vehicles for final delivery by performing light mechanical work, identifying issues, and ensuring operational readiness.
- Perform mechanical services on vehicles, including:
- Pre-delivery inspections (PDI)
- Fluid checks and minor adjustments
- Battery installation and testing
- Tire checks and basic replacements
- Install aftermarket accessories and components as required
- Diagnose and troubleshoot basic mechanical issues
- Read and interpret work orders, repair instructions, and specifications
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely
- Conduct quality checks to ensure vehicles meet customer and manufacturer standards
- Document work completed and report any defects or concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all OSHA and company safety protocols
- 1–3 years of automotive mechanical experience (dealership, fleet, or production environment preferred)
- Basic knowledge of automotive systems (electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic)
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and repair orders
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a physically demanding environment
- Fast-paced, high-volume vehicle processing facility
- Work performed indoors and outdoors depending on workflow
- Requires standing, bending, lifting, and working on/around vehicles for extended periods
