What You’ll Do
- Analyze packaging processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, waste reduction, and throughput.
- Develop and implement centerlining standards for packaging equipment to ensure consistent performance.
- Collaborate with automation engineers, operators and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize machine settings.
- Lead projects aimed at reducing downtime and improving reliability across packaging systems.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data-driven methods to validate improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Document best practices and train operators on optimized processes and equipment settings.
- Ability to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with packaging systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with packaging equipment such as shrink wrappers, case packers, palletizers, and conveyors.
- Familiarity with robotic packaging systems (Yaskawa or similar) and automated packaging lines.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
