About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep their facility and equipment operating efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will perform both preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic, electrical, and structural areas. This role involves working throughout the facility to support production and facility reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks (lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, alignment) to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose mechanical failures and perform corrective maintenance on components such as motors, pumps, bearings, belts, conveyors, valves, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Perform minor electrical work (wiring, troubleshooting of control circuits), as well as interpret schematic diagrams and equipment manuals.
- Maintain facility infrastructure: building systems, structural elements, plumbing, lighting, signage, and general building repairs.
- Handle HVAC, air compressors, dryers or similar auxiliary systems (maintenance, monitoring, basic repair) depending on facility needs.
- Maintain tools, parts, and inventory needed for maintenance tasks. Record work performed, materials used, and schedule/track maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards: use of PPE, safe working practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or trade school in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or related field is a plus.
- Several years of experience in industrial or facility maintenance, including work with mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand/power tools, measuring instruments, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand or stoop for extended periods, work in confined or elevated spaces, and operate machinery as necessary.
Desired / Preferred Skills
- Welding or metal fabrication experience.
- Experience with air compressor systems, dryers, or similar utility systems.
- Experience or comfort with hydraulic systems and components.
- Basic familiarity with PLCs or automated equipment (optional, depending on facility).
Working Conditions & Other Requirements
- Work is facility-wide, including production areas, shop areas, and building systems (HVAC, electrical, structural).
- May require some overtime
- Adherence to all safety policies, including PPE, lockout/tagout, confined space, etc.
- Regular interaction with production, engineering, and maintenance teams.
